Nothing leaves your device
Lines Out is built for a single volunteer running a single ice-fishing derby weigh-in table. It works entirely offline. There is no account, no server, no sync, and no analytics of any kind. Everything you enter — the derby's rules, ticket numbers, angler names, weights, lengths and fish photos — is stored only in a local database on your iPhone or iPad.
What the app collects
Nothing is collected by us or transmitted anywhere. The information you type into Lines Out (derby name and rules, entrant names, ticket numbers, catch weights and lengths, correction notes) stays in an on-device database that only your copy of the app can read. We have no way to see it, and it is never sent to a server because there is no server.
Camera and photo library
Lines Out lets you attach a photo to a fish record — a picture of the catch at the scale. You choose that photo with Apple's own photo picker, or take one with the camera. The app only ever sees the single photo you actively choose to attach; it does not browse or access the rest of your photo library. Photos you attach are saved locally alongside the rest of the derby's data and are never uploaded.
Notifications
If you turn on horn reminders in Setup, Lines Out schedules a few local notifications on your own device (for example, a warning before lines-out time). These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on-device; no notification service or third party is involved.
Sharing results
The Results screen can export a final standings sheet as a PDF or CSV file. That file is created on your device and only leaves it if you choose to share it yourself, using Apple's standard share sheet (for example to send it by Messages, Mail or AirDrop). Lines Out does not upload or transmit this file on its own.
Third parties, tracking and advertising
Lines Out contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking software of any kind. It does not track you across apps or websites, and it collects no data for advertising purposes.
Children's privacy
Lines Out is a tool for derby organisers, not a service directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, since it does not collect information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes — for example if a future version of the app adds a feature that changes what stays on-device — this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
